From Manchester, it is very easy and cheap to travel by rail to Sheffield. The trip takes about 1 hour. The airport has its own train station, which makes things even easier. You may wish to travel to one of the London airports – Heathrow or Gatwick, to which many non-stop flights are available from most major Canadian and US cities, including Montreal and Toronto. Bear in mind that although flights may be slightly cheaper than to Manchester, you will have to factor in the cost and hassle of travelling by train or bus to Sheffield.
